This website is the home of Human Resources, created to introduce the characters, share some laughs, and build a community of readers who want to follow Dave's adventures.

In a world where AI can optimize everything, predict everything, and process everything, Dave remains magnificently, stubbornly, hilariously human. He forgets deadlines. He eats lunch at 11am. He has opinions about the office thermostat.
Human Resources is built for anyone who has ever felt slightly out of sync with the world around them.
The goal of Human Resources is to introduce readers to Dave—the only human employee at Algorithm Inc.—and build a loyal audience around his increasingly complicated life with artificial intelligence. Through the website, social media, and newspaper exposure, we hope to grow Human Resources into a recognizable comic with characters readers look forward to following each week.
As that readership grows, our larger goal is to partner with a major comic syndicate that can bring Dave, Byte, Via, Maxim, and the rest of the Algorithm Inc. team to newspapers and digital audiences nationwide. After all, somebody has to represent the humans.
Human Resources was created by the team at Marcy Design Group, a Columbus, Ohio creative agency that has spent nearly four decades bringing ideas to life through design, storytelling, marketing, and technology.
Over the years, Marcy Design has created more than 1,000 websites and 14,000 marketing projects, earning more than 230 awards along the way. But behind all those numbers is something much simpler: we love coming up with ideas and finding creative ways to communicate them.
That same creative spirit led to Human Resources.
After years of helping businesses navigate new technology—and watching artificial intelligence rapidly become part of everyday work and life—we saw an opportunity to look at AI from a completely different perspective. Instead of asking what artificial intelligence can do, we started wondering: What does artificial intelligence think of us? That answer became Algorithm Inc., a company run almost entirely by AI, and Dave, its first and only human employee.
