Usually, when a business web design project is started, the client and creative team will agree on a fee and timeline, and everyone assumes things will go smoothly. But, in our experience, things don’t always go according to plan. And when that happens, there are two things you should remember about the timing of business web design:
First, know that rushing your design team isn’t going to help anything. Sometimes, clients get (understandably) impatient with the process, and want us to speed things up. The creative process takes time, though, even for an experienced team of web professionals. Putting more pressure might speed things up a little bit, but it isn’t going to lead to better results.
And second, remember that slowing things down can be just as harmful. On the other hand, clients who take weeks and months to approve designs and make decisions aren’t helping the process, either. That’s because design and development both have a sense of momentum about them – slow your creative team down too much, and they could lose focus.
