So much gets said and written about online marketing these days that it’s easy to forget that there is a point to it… that we don’t just work on Internet marketing for the sake of Internet marketing. To truly be effective – not to mention profitable – there has to be a point to all the things to which you are devoting so much of your time and budget.
And so, in today’s post we want to ask you an important question: what is your Internet marketing plan geared towards?
The answer might seem obvious, and if it is, then give yourself a pat on the back. But if you aren’t sure, then now is the perfect time to do a little bit of self-assessment. Do you really know what you are hoping will come from your business website? Is it for new subscribers to your e-mail newsletter, more phone calls coming into your office, increased sales from an e-commerce site, or something altogether different?
The better answer you have for these questions, the easier time you’re going to have designing, measuring, and focusing your Internet marketing plan in the future. So, even though there are a lot of things that Internet marketing can be about, make sure you know what it means to you and your business before you devote too much time to ideas and strategies.
