When you see the potential results of a good social media marketing plan, it’s hard not to get excited about what can happen. Using Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn (amongst other social sites), it’s possible to find new buyers, develop customer loyalty, and build your brand into something powerful… all in just a few minutes a day.
What sometimes gets lost in that discussion, however, is that even though social media marketing doesn’t take a huge time commitment on a daily basis, it’s likely to require some perseverance over the coming weeks and months. In other words, don’t expect that you’re going to see results from social media marketing overnight – just as with off-line marketing, it’s going to take a little bit of time and patience.
The reason is simple: Whether they’re over the Internet or not, relationships take time to develop. People don’t suddenly start to become comfortable with you, or your company, just because you sent a clever tweet. Remember that and emphasize a good long-term approach.
Social media marketing might not necessarily be quick, but it is effective. Do the right things, and your patience will be rewarded.
