As any number of movies like to remind us every year, the holiday season isn’t just about response rates and profit margins – it’s also a season of giving, sharing, and compassion. So, is there a way you can combine your marketing efforts with a charitable spirit this December?
One of the easiest ways is by beginning a social media campaign for your favorite nonprofit, donating a bit of your own money (or perhaps a percentage of sales) and encouraging buyers to do the same. It doesn’t have to be a huge gesture to make a big impact, and it’s a good way to raise awareness of important causes.
Interestingly enough, taking your eye off the bottom line for a few minutes and getting people to think charitably can actually be good for your business, too. That’s because it draws customers into a closer relationship with your company, if they also want to support the same causes, which is good for customer loyalty.
Of course, the best reason to give in the holiday season is simply that it feels great to do something positive in the world. But, if it helps your social media marketing efforts at the same time, there’s nothing wrong with being rewarded for a good deed.
