Ecommerce Marketing and TrustDo visitors to your e-commerce site feel like they can trust you, and the information they find on your pages? They had better, because you effectively have zero chance of them entering a credit card number or sending you money if they don’t.

But for all the need there is for trust in e-commerce, lots of online stores are going far enough to make it a priority and let customers feel comfortable with the business. Here are a few ways you can do better:

First, take every precaution on your customer’s behalf. This includes protecting their personal information and credit card numbers with the best encryption and online security possible.

Second, be upfront about everything. Let buyers know everything you can about your business, including where your products come from, where you are located, and who is responsible for your marketing, as well as the day-to-day operation of your company.

And finally, use visible signs and logos to build your credibility. If you have been endorsed or approved by organizations like the Better Business Bureau, or online security providers, put logos and certificates on your site so customers can see you’re making every effort to keep them safe.

Without trust in your e-commerce site, no one is going to buy anything, and revenue grinds to a halt. So, if you aren’t doing all you can to make your business look and feel trustworthy online, now is the time to get started.
