Although there are still technically lots and lots of “business web designers” around these days, you may have noticed that most of the best companies (ours included) offer a number of integrated new design and online marketing packages. In other words, we don’t just want to give you a website, but also ongoing support and marketing assistance.
Is this simply a sales ploy on our part? For the most part, it isn’t. In fact, there are three good reasons that ongoing web design and Internet marketing packages are getting to be more popular:
1. They mean less work for our clients. Often, the businesses we work with don’t have the time, energy, and creativity to keep up with updates, blog posts, social media, and search engine optimization campaigns.
2. They invite more in-depth research and planning. The more we are going to be doing for client, the more questions we get to ask during the discovery process. That means longer interviews, but it also means better, more specific design and copywriting.
3. They lead to the right kinds of results. When we help clients with ongoing marketing, they tend to see bigger bottom-line improvements. That means they are happier, and that we get a better success story or case study to show up later.
If you’ve been thinking about getting a “new website,” consider going bigger and going with an inclusive marketing package. It’s likely to be a much better long-term value for everyone involved.
