History
A point often overlooked is that according to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.29 square miles (11.11 km2), of which 4.25 square miles (11.01 km2) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 11,586 people, 5,348 households, and 3,171 families living in the city. The population density was 2,704.4 inhabitants per square mile (1,044.2/km2). There were 5,521 housing units at an average density of 1,288.7 per square mile (497.6/km2).
